Volunteer Role: Marketing Administrative Support
Purpose: The Marketing Administrative Support volunteer will assist with administrative duties for St. Luke’s Marketing Team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Organizing and maintaining marketing resource materials (eg. brochures, data, files, photos, videos) for easy retrieval when needed
- Assisting with data entry/contact management and follow-up
- Participating in large marketing projects by researching, sourcing, and coordinating resources required to implement the project
- Reserving resources and preparing meeting materials
- Maintaining inventory records and replenishing inventory as needed
Time commitment: 4-8 hours per month, flexible date/time schedule
Location: On-site and remote opportunities available
Skills Needed:
- Thorough knowledge of general administrative duties and procedures

Ministry Leader: Director of Marketing
Volunteer Role: Copywriter/Proofreader
Purpose: The volunteer Copywriter will develop content to support St. Luke’s marketing communications. Content may include press releases, blogs, articles, web updates, emails, promotional copy for events and programs, etc. Proofreaders will review content quality, accuracy, spelling, and grammar.
Responsibilities may include:
- Gather information/data from a range of sources (online research, telephone interviews, etc.) to create original, engaging, and relevant content
- Write draft content that is aligned with St. Luke’s messaging and style guidelines
- Submit writing assignments according to established timelines and deadlines
- Provide new and suitable content suggestions for St. Luke’s marketing and communication channels
- Serve as a liaison between ministry areas (as assigned) and the Marketing Team to ensure timely publication of relevant stories
Time commitment: 8-16 hours per month, flexible date/time schedule
Location: On-site and remote opportunities available
Skills Needed:
- Ability to create original, creative written content that is consistent with St. Luke’s established style, voice and tone
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (to communicate with editors, proofreaders)
- Working knowledge of AP style guidelines
- Practical experience writing/proofreading in educational, journalistic, advertising, or creative contexts (writers: please provide writing samples)

Ministry Leader: Director of Marketing
Volunteer Role: Volunteer Photographer/Historian
Purpose: The volunteer Photographer/Historian will help St. Luke’s capture digital images of important moments for use in marketing materials and other communications, while creating a photo database for future marketing needs and projects.
Responsibilities may include:
- Be present at major events to capture high-quality photographs
- Capture a variety of subjects, including event participants, speakers, VIPs, staff and volunteers, etc.
- Take photographs to catalogue event process (e.g. venue, décor, room setup, etc.)
- Select, process, and deliver high-quality photographs to the relevant contact for use within a short period of time (1-2 days)
- Organize photos from various events in easily-identifiable folders to be accessed when needed
- Identify key photos from existing folders for future marketing pieces while taking into consideration the diversity of our congregation at large and inclusion of all groups represented at St. Luke’s
- Create a space where ministry leaders and St. Lukers can submit photos for various uses
Time commitment: 2-8 hours per month, flexible date/time schedule
Location: On-site/at community event locations
Skills/Equipment Needed:
- Strong photography skills; preferably, ability to produce photographs that possess a storytelling arc
- Proficiency with image editing software (eg. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, etc)
- Willingness to use personal camera
- Ability to transport and operate camera and gear
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
- Prior experience with event photography an asset (please provide photography samples)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing needs and processes

Ministry Leader: Director of Marketing
Volunteer Role: Merchandise Coordinator
Purpose: The volunteer Merchandise Coordinator will help the Marketing Team keep track of, order, and sell various St. Luke’s “merchandise” on and off campus at special events or on special Sundays.
Responsibilities may include:
- Keep an updated inventory of existing merchandise items (shirts, cups, bags, yard signs, pens, etc.) in an easily-accessible place for the Team to view
- Occasionally set up and staff a merchandise table on campus on special Sundays or at specific events
- Communicate with Team members when inventory is low in a certain items and prompt a re-order
- Make suggestions/research new and exciting promotional items to order for various community events where we will have a presence (Come out with Pride, local 5k’s, etc.)
- Work with local vendors for ordering and pick-up of items once ordered
Time commitment: ~15 hours per month, flexible date/time schedule
Location: On-site/at community event locations
Skills/Equipment Needed:
- Confident in money handling
- Ability to quickly learn new technology with training
- Independent, proactive, flexible worker, with the ability to collaborate with team
- Experience with Square (online store platform) a plus
- Strong verbal and organizational skills
